Help us in welcoming Western Edge Aviation’s newest team member – Billy G. Harpole.
Bill is our new A&P (IA) mechanic with a passion for smaller (GA) and experimental aircraft! He has worked as a mechanic for most of his life, starting with Ag equipment then into Cars trucks and finally heavy equipment and aircraft.
He has a great love of aviation first purchasing a 172b and obtaining his private license. In 2009 Bill attended school to obtain his AP certification while maintaining a solid 4.0 GPA and was on the Presidents list. While taking classes Bill also spent one summer doing an internship with Trego Dugan Avionics learning electrical wiring and systems.
Bill then spent three years in a GA shop working on everything from experimental homebuilt aircraft to Cessna 421’s and turbine powered single and twins. His experience includes being contracted by Cape Air to setup their new maintenance base in Billings Montana, and aid in training the new mechanics on 402’s.
The past 7 years has been spent working on Twin Commanders (500-695) as Air Attack platforms to fight forest fires. Having become one of the top mechanics in the industry Bill is also qualified to aid and teach maintenance.
